Most of what's on the site comes from partners we've worked with for years across China, Vietnam, Thailand, and India. Here's the path each shipment takes before it lands in our New York warehouse.
From a factory tour to your doorstep.
Every product we sell goes through this six-stage pipeline. We typically reject 8 out of every 10 products we evaluate — the bar is "would I buy this myself?", not "can we sell this?"
Discovery & factory visits
Our buying team is on the ground in Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Yiwu, Hanoi, and Bangalore most months of the year. We meet factories at trade fairs (Canton Fair, Yiwu Commodities, Vietnam Sourcing) and through introductions from our parent company's existing freight clients. Every potential supplier gets a factory visit before we even talk pricing — we walk the production line, check working conditions, and ask to see their other clients' orders.

If a factory passes the visit, we order samples — usually 5 to 20 units across the variants we're considering. The samples ship to our New York office for hands-on review. We use them, wash them, drop them, sit on them. Anything that doesn't survive normal use gets shelved and we either ask for a revised sample or move on. Electronics also go through a third-party lab for FCC and safety certification.
2–4 weeks per roundNegotiation & first PO
Once a sample passes, we negotiate FOB pricing, MOQ (minimum order quantity), lead time, and payment terms. Our standard terms are 30% deposit on order, 70% before shipment, with a 30-day production window. The first purchase order is intentionally small — usually 200 to 500 units — so we can verify production quality matches the sample before scaling up.
First PO: 200–500 unitsPre-shipment inspection
Before any container leaves the factory, our QC team or a third-party inspection firm (we use SGS and AsiaInspection) does a full on-site inspection. They open boxes at random across the production run, count units, and grade for defects under AQL standards. If the rejection rate is over 2.5%, the shipment is held until the factory reworks it.
AQL 2.5 samplingOcean freight & customs
Most goods travel by ocean from Yantian, Ningbo, or Ho Chi Minh City to the Port of New York/New Jersey or Los Angeles. Transit is 14–28 days depending on origin. Our parent company VConnect USA acts as the customs broker, so we handle entry filing, duty payment, and FDA/CPSC clearance in-house — that's where the margin gets squeezed back into your purchase price.

Containers are de-vanned at our Valley Stream (NY) and Los Angeles (CA) warehouses. SKUs are scanned in, photographed, listed online, and stored on shelves. When you place an order, the closest warehouse picks, packs, and hands off to USPS, UPS, or FedEx — usually within 24 hours. Average ground transit from order to door: 3–5 business days.

Some products don't pass our review.
We turn down most of what we evaluate. Here's what gets a product cut from the lineup, regardless of how cheap or trending it is.
Counterfeit or branded knockoffs
If a factory can't show us authorization to produce a logo or design, we walk. The supply chain is full of grey-market goods; we don't touch them.
Unsafe electronics
Anything with a battery or that plugs into a wall must have FCC certification, valid UL or ETL marks where applicable, and pass our lab review. Cheap chargers are the most common rejection.
Materials we wouldn't put in our home
Off-gassing plastics, rough-cut wood that splinters, fabrics that pill in the wash. Sample testing catches most of this before an order is placed.
Suppliers without proof of conditions
Factories that won't let us walk the production floor or won't provide BSCI/Sedex audit reports get cut. Working conditions matter; we won't take a supplier's word for it.
